If you have an asphalt driveway or parking lot, chances are you are well aware of the benefits of blacktop, like quicker installation, and a more durable product. As with most things that are worth it, there can be some work involved, in the case of asphalt, that is maintenance. So that begs the question, how often will you need asphalt paving services?
The first thing to check on is what type of services might be needed. Here are a few things to look for in your driveway or parking lot to indicate you might need us.
- Cracks in the asphalt
- Drainage issues
- Potholes
- Dull or faded asphalt
- Warping or sinking
Depending on what you find, or the severity of it will dictate the type of asphalt service that you’ll require. Keep in mind that driveways and parking lots will become damaged over time. That’s the nature of it as it’s exposed to the elements 365 days a year.
If you have a newer driveway with minimal or no damage yet, we would recommend having it sealed. Sealing your driveway can stop small cracks from becoming bigger, and give your driveway or parking lot that same shine it had when it was first installed. This should be done every two to three years to help keep your driveway or parking lot in great shape.
If you have damage in your parking lot that has bigger cracks, or the start of potholes, you may be beyond the sealing stage and will need to fill and repair the cracks. If the damage has become too severe, at that point we’d recommend resurfacing your driveway or parking lot and starting fresh.
