We’ve all seen paving work being done, whether in traffic waiting for the flag person to let us through, or in parking lots and driveways in our towns and neighborhoods. There are a lot of different pieces of equipment that go into making sure these jobs are done safely and efficiently. In this ongoing series, we’ll be talking to you about the different types of equipment that we use here at Von Paving. This month; Sweepers.
An asphalt sweeper or broom follows behind planers removing debris. By doing this, it allows the new layer of asphalt to adhere to the surface better, meaning a longer life span. A sweeper needs to be heavy-duty and kept in great condition, so we’re sure to perform regular maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
Installing and maintaining asphalt is a big job with a lot of moving parts. The asphalt sweeper is just one part of the whole. Do you have questions about your driveway or parking lot? Let us know. We’d love to hear from you!
